COBRA KAI Season 6 casts CS Lee in the role originated in THE KARATE KID

CS Lee (Right, Avatar: The Last Airbender) has joined the cast of Netflix Cobra Kai for his sixth and final season in an iconic role coming from The karate kid on which the series is based.

Deadline reports that Lee will play Master Kim Sun-Young, a character who has previously only appeared in flashback form Jun Chong In The karate kid and later Don Lee In Cobra Kai. Master Kim is presumed dead and it is currently unknown whether Lee will only appear in flashback form, although it can be safely assumed, as Alicia Hannah-Kimwho joined Cobra Kai in season five, she plays Master Kim’s niece, Kim Da-Eun. She came onto the scene in season five at the behest of Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith). Both Terry and John Kreese (Martin Kove) were taught by Master Kim, who created The Way of the Fist, a merciless style of martial arts that is the antithesis of Mr. Miyagi’s teachings (Pat Morita).

In January it was announced that the sixth season of the hit streaming series would be the final chapter. Season six was scheduled to premiere in December of this year, but was put on hold when the writers’ room was closed at the start of the WGA strike in May. THE Cobra Kai the writers reunited after the WGA strike ended a month ago, and filming is expected to begin in early 2024.
