You probably didn’t know the name of Davide Renne who could have made a name for himself thanks to his new position, if he hadn’t died suddenly at the age of 46. After being a designer at Gucci for almost twenty years, he had just been appointed artistic director of Moschino on November 1, 2023, before the brand announced his death on November 10.

In a statement, Massimo Ferretti, president of Moschino’s parent company, Aeffe, confirmed the sad news:
“There are no words to describe the pain we are experiencing in this dramatic moment. Even though he only stayed with us for a very short time, Davide immediately knew how to make himself loved and respected. Today we have the responsibility to pursue what his imagination and creativity had only imagined. Our deepest condolences go to his family and friends. »
Davide Renne was born in 1977 in Follonica, Tuscany. After studying fashion in Florence, he began his career alongside his mentor Alessandro Dell’Acqua (who currently manages the N°21 brand), before joining Gucci in 2004. In recent years at the Florentine house, he has notably directed women’s ready-to-wear -wear under the artistic direction of Alessandro Michele who paid homage to him on Instagram:

And as we held each other tightly, our hearts beat. Because you weren’t just one of the most talented creatives I’ve ever met.
