It began with what appeared to be thousands of protesters carrying Palestinian flags and signs reading “Free Palestine” and “End the occupation now” gathering outside the building and chanting “Shut it down!” sang in harmony.

Some protesters reportedly broke into the lobby of the Times building and occupied it for about an hour.
According to the Washington Post, the group was led by a group of media figures called the Writers Bloc. Inside, group members read out the names of thousands of Palestinians killed in Gaza since the war began.
They dropped versions of The New York War Crimes, a fake newspaper. The brochure accuses the media of “complicity in whitewashing the genocide.” There have also been calls for the Gray Lady to publicly support a ceasefire in Gaza.
A statement from the New York Daily News said: “The New York Times has extensively covered the war between Israel and Hamas with fairness, impartiality and a sustained understanding of the complexities of the conflict… We fully support . This group has the right to express its point of view, even if we disagree with the characterization of our reporting.”
