HBO will broadcast the documentary David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, dedicated to David Holmes, Daniel Radcliffe’s replacement for the entire season, who was tragically injured on the set of Deathly Hallows Part 1.

Although Daniel Radcliffe is trying to get rid of his iconic Harry Potter character, the actor has revealed a big project related to the saga.

In fact, he will be the producer of the documentary film David Holmes: The Boy Who Liveddirected by Dan Hartleyto pay homage to his stunt double on the sets of the saga David Holmes. The latter experienced a dramatic accident on the set of Deathly Hallows part 1, in 2010, leaving him paralyzed, revealed Variety.

Broadcast on HBO at the beginning of November, the film will trace the collaboration between Radcliffe and Holmes, from the beginning of the saga until Deathly Hallows, part 1. It was during this production that he performed a stunt injuring his vertebrae, paralyzing him from the torso down.

A documentary full of archive footage and behind the scenes footage

According to the synopsis, the documentary will return to “ the story of stuntman David Holmes, a prodigious teenage gymnast from Essex, England, chosen to play Daniel Radcliffe’s replacement in the first Harry Potter film. While Daniel was only 11 years old, the two formed an inextricable bond over the next 10 years. »

The film will then show how, after David Holmes’ accident, his loved ones, but also the members of the saga rallied to support him, and how Holmes recovered from the accident.

To do this, the Harry Potter interpreter will not hesitate to do so go in front of the camera and transmit “Authentic personal footage filmed over the past decade, behind-the-scenes looks at Holmes’ stunts, scenes from his current life, and intimate interviews with his friends, family and former crew,” as the press release explains. From here the documentary will be broadcast in France 2024.
