UTA signs Ceci Chan’s ACE91

EXCLUSIVE: UTA has signed Ceci Chan’s media company ACE91 for representation in all territories worldwide, Deadline can exclusively reveal. While the agency oversees the company’s entertainment and film businesses, it will seek to secure business deals for the company in industries such as gaming and other areas of the technology sector.

One of the company’s first projects, created to inspire global audiences and create positive change – including work in film, television and books – is 2020 chaos and hope, a feature document that examines a year like no other. After a limited theatrical release via Abramorama last year and additional recent festival wins, the film will make its streaming premiere on Peacock this fall. June Beallor directed and co-produced the documentary with Chan.

ACE91 is currently working on a feature documentary based on the international bestseller The Sideways, an insightful look at the history of the Silk Road and the inextricable connection between East and West. Written by Oxford professor and historian Peter Frankopan, the non-fiction book was named one of the Sunday Times Books of the Decade 2010–2019, translated into several languages ​​and read by millions of people around the world.

Chan is a key investor in the company Dalpha Tech, which focuses on using smart living technologies to reduce environmental impact and increase disposable income. Chan is also a partner and managing director for Greater China at Dasym, an independent, research-focused investment firm with a strong presence in telecommunications, media and technology. She is a passionate advocate for prison reform, civil and voting rights. She is also a member of the Leadership Council of Facing History and Ourselves, Vice Chair of the Dean’s Council of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and a member of the Executive Committee of the USC Shoah Foundation, where she leads the Nanjing Project has.
