In my house, ham au gratin is THE recipe comfort food for excellence. Requested loudly by my children at every meal when temperatures drop below 15°C, it is very quick and simple to prepare and can be adapted according to your tastes and desires. Are you vegetarian? You can replace the white ham with mushrooms sliced ​​and browned in a little butter.and voila.

The ingredients for the ham shell gratin (for 4 people):

  • 300 g of shells
  • 4 slices of white ham cut into cubes
  • 20 cl of liquid cream (full or light depending on taste)
  • 100g grated Comté cheese
  • 100g Comté cheese, diced
  • A little ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper

The recipe for cooked ham au gratin

  • Start by cooking your shells according to the instructions on the package, but drain them a minute before the end of cooking (to avoid overcooking them while they brown).
  • Pour the pasta into a baking dish and immediately add the liquid cream. Mix well.
  • Then add the diced ham, diced Comté cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste. Mix so that all the elements are well distributed in the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with grated Comté and bake at 180°C for about 20 minutes, until the surface is golden and crunchy.
