Musician Boris Grebenshchikov gave an interview to Moskvich Mag, where he told how he lives now, why he loves Moscow and why he does not consider himself a legend.

Now Grebenshchikov works in London and St. Petersburg: according to him, he loves Russia and it is nice to work in London.

Grebenshchikov spoke about Moscow, which he presented as “the place of rebirth of gods and demigods.”

He noted that he never dreamed of living abroad.

But today Grebenshchikov does not feel “on the other side of the barricades.”

For many residents of Russia, Boris Grebenshchikov is a very important person. He himself is unaware of its importance: He adheres to a certain philosophy in his life.

Boris Grebenshchikov told what is the difference between his solo project and the Aquarium group. “You’ll see soon,” the musician says vaguely about the band’s future.

Although many see a political context in his songs, such as “Old Russian Longing”, “500”, “Babylon” and others, he himself believes that they are not about politics. Boris Grebenshchikov noted, however, that it is worthwhile to engage in politics, at least for its own sake.

At the end of February, Grebenshchikov opposed a military special operation in Ukraine. He also attended an anti-war concert by rapper Oksimiron in London.
