Everyone loves modeling clay. Children, adults, everyone (or almost everyone) likes to work this little colored dough.
If your kids, or someone you care about, are on vacation and you’re looking for a way to keep them busy without them turning the whole house upside down and making you want to lie down in the corner of the room waiting to die, here’s my little one personal recipe, which will keep them busy for a good part of the day.
How to make modeling clay yourself?

To make modeling clay, which has the advantage of not being toxic for little ones, you will need:
- 100 g of sodium bicarbonate
- 50 g of corn starch
- 75 g of water
- Different food colors
The steps of the recipe for homemade modeling clay
Directly in a saucepan, over low heat, mix the bicarbonate of soda, corn starch and water until the mixture thickens and becomes a little elastic.
Is it good that it’s done? Well, wait for it to cool a bit and separate the dough according to how many vials of food coloring you have. If you have red and blue, make two balls. If you also have yellow, make three and so on. In each ball add the coloring, mix, mix and hey, that’s it, it’s done.
Yes, I told you it wasn’t complicated! Between preparation and the next match, the boys will be very busy in the next few hours and that’s exactly what we want.
Remember, if you want to store the dough, to close it in an airtight container so that it does not dry out.
The future of Numerama is coming! But even before that, our colleagues need you. Do you have 3 minutes? Take their survey
