The information has just been confirmed by the Spanish prosecutor’s office. The footballer Jenni Hermoso has filed a complaint against the president of the Spanish federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, after the latter kissed her without her consent during La Roja’s victory in the final of the Women’s World Cup.
A complaint that adds to the preliminary investigations already open
Captured live and transcribed internationally, this forced kiss had aroused great controversy. The president was then suspended from his duties by FIFA, while the Spanish prosecutor’s office opened a preliminary investigation against him. The latter, last September 6, announced that the player had filed a complaint and assured that legal action would therefore be initiated. “as quickly as possible”.
The same morning, the RFEF sacked its coach Jorge Vilda, replaced by his assistant Montse Tomé. A change that goes hand in hand with a request for a global restructuring within the federation. The Spanish players are also refusing to be called up until there is a change at the top of the federation.
