While Gabriel Attal wants to trial school uniforms in France by the end of 2023, many parents want to cut back on their children’s clothing budget ahead of back to school in a context of high tension and inflation. CSA study for Cofidis on family back-to-school expenses finds they are declining for two out of three families, reports FranceInfo.
Clothing and sports, the first items of expenditure reduced by parents for their children
Anne-Laure Marchal, who conducted the study, explains to the France Télévisions media: “ Among the parents who will have to limit themselves, 59% cite clothing as the first item they will cut back on. 40% also mention sporting goods. »
Many parents will therefore skip the traditional brand new back to school outfit for their kids. If the use of used cars can help save money, the budget of the French remains particularly tense, and what is considered superfluous such as fashion and sport are the first items of expenditure to be reduced to a minimum.
