The square is probably the most requested haircut of the moment. After the Butterfly bob or the French bob, it’s the turn of the Italian bob, a more romantic square with 90s inspirations to have its moment of glory. And the latter is far from ephemeral as the trend has made it through the summer to manage to carve out a place in this back to school. And its popularity will likely allow it to remain at the center of trends season after season.
But what exactly is the Italian bob?
For simplicity, it is a short square whose lengths reach approximately jaw level. Slightly tapered at the ends, the lengths can be cut into layers at the top to gain more volume. The idea? That the square can naturally marry the shape of the face, sublimate the posture of the head and lengthen the neck. All while stylizing the silhouette with a minimalist style reminiscent of the supermodel cuts of the 90s.
With its la dolce vita inspirations, the Italian bob echoes Italian romance. Very glamorous, it can be worn smooth, wavy or curly and therefore embodies the perfect cut for those who want volume.
A cut that is not suitable for all hair types
Do you have naturally thick or curly hair and want to adopt this hairstyle? Keep in mind that by opting for such a shortcut you will also gain in volume, which for some may be a prohibitive criterion. especially when you already have thick or high density hair.
Obviously volume is aesthetic but if you don’t want to have more (which is your right), you’ll probably need to skip this cut. and instead focus on a nice long shade that will tend to give the hairstyle more lightness.
