Denim is the protagonist of couture fashion week in Paris. Balenciaga and Valentino collections prove it

What do you associate with Couture? Intricate draped dresses, fantastic embroidered suits, skirts with intricate appliqués, and whimsical headdresses are sure to be included in the honorary fashion list. In general, everything we see on the red carpet and social events, but not in real life.

But recently, couture fashion has undergone major changes. This was also affected by the pandemic, after which the design department began to deliberately simplify the collections by adding elements of clothing familiar to us. For example, in July 2021 Demna Gvasalia introduced jeans to the Balenciaga collection, making denim a new trend in haute couture.

In the following seasons, denim pieces were included in the couture collections of Jean Paul Gaultuer, Schiaparelli, Ronald van der Kemp and many more.

This year, designers did not stop experimenting with jeans. Loose worn jeans and light blue jeans reappeared on the Balenciaga runway.

The trend was supported by the creative director of Valentino Pierpaolo Piccioli. Thus, the brand’s couture runway show yesterday was opened by Kaya Gerber – the model wore navy blue blast jeans and a white button-down shirt. And it’s like after this release, we’ve all gotten a little closer to the distant world of haute couture.

Repeating the podium image is not difficult. Today we decided to collect products of Russian brands with which you can do this.
