In the crosshairs of a sexual assault complaint, Nicolas Bedos will go to trial in early 2024

The director is the subject of a complaint filed on June 12 for “sexual touch”. He was arrested on Wednesday June 21st.

Director Nicholas Bedostargeted by a sexual assault complaint, he was placed in police custody at the Paris-Centre police station on Wednesday, June 21, media have revealed News 17. The complaint was filed on June 12 “by sexual contact”by a 25-year-old woman. The events would have occurred on a 25-year-old woman.

Upon completion of his police custody – which was rescinded on Thursday 22nd June according to franceinfo – the 44-year-old director received a subpoena in early 2024, per“sexual assault while openly drunk”.

Tapping on the dance floor

It was in the Sauvages nightclub, located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, that the attack took place. The alleged victim said in his complaint that he went there with his older brother and his partner, as well as two friends. While on the dance floor, she reported seeing a man approach in front of her. She would then have extended her right hand to the height of her private parts, above her pants.

The young woman claims to have pushed him away and remembers that he said to her: “You won’t hit me there! » She, who had recognized Nicolas Bedos, then replied: “Go get treated! » He then allegedly asked a security guard to kick the manager out of the establishment, which he did. Shocked, the young woman said it took several days before she decided to press charges.

No recollection of the attack

Before the investigators, the director assured that he did not want to “questioned the word of the complainant describing an inappropriate gesture of a few seconds over his jeans”explained his lawyer to franceinfo. According to the latter, the director would have no recollection of this attack, which could be “only accidental under the influence of intoxication”, he reported. Nicolas Bedos therefore risks five years in prison and a fine of 75 thousand euros.
