There are those directors who never rest and like to release a film every six months. Even while we poor mortals wait for the release of his new film City of Asteroids June 21st, Wes Anderson is already seriously working on his next feature film.
From its casting to its synopsis or even its release date – here’s everything we know about… The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar.
As for Fantastic Mr. Fox, an adaptation of Wes Anderson’s favorite author
As one of his best films, Fantastic Mr. FoxWes Anderson will again adapt the writings of the British author Roald Dal.
While Fantastic Mr. Fox it was inspired by a novel, from which his next film will be based Tthe wonderful story of Henry Sugar and six others, a collection of short stories released in 1977. The film is expected to be cut several acts and will stage four stories of the original work.
In an interview with varietythe actor Friend Rupertwho will probably be in the cast, it sort of set the tone for the film :
“It could change, but when we did it, there were four stories drawn [d’une collection de nouvelles] by Roald Dahl which are his slightly darker, more twisted stories that he’s written for adults »
The wonderful story of Henry Sugar, what is it about?
Eyes out: The synopsis for the next Wes Anderson heralds one of the most incredible films of his career.
We follow Henry Sugar, a rich man who a penchant for gambling. One day, she reads a doctor’s report describing a strange Indian patient whom he is able to see despite his eyes being sewn together. Since then, the man would have developed strange abilities to perform an incredibly profitable act in a circus. Henry discovers how the doctors “took” this man’s sight.
Henry decides to do the same and finally gives himself the power to see despite his stitched eyes.. Using his powers, he submits to a series of charades intended to earn him a huge sum of money.
There is no doubt that Henry’s adventures will be declined in several episodes within the same film.
Ralph Fiennes, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dev Patel… who will be in the cast of the next Wes Anderson?
In the same interview with varietyRupert Friend has revealed the names of his fellow players:
“Wes took four (new) ones and put together a small cast of actors: me, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Kingsley, Benedict Cumberbatch, Dev Patel and Richard Ayoade.
We each act in about two of the stories and switch roles. I think Ralph could be in all of them. »

Where and when does it come out?
Self City of Asteroids will be released on the big screen, The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar should meet a different fate. The stage of the cinema reports that the film will be released on Netflix in the fall.
