Surprise: Samantha from Sex and the City returns and just like that

Kim Cattrall, the interpreter of the incomparable Samantha in Sex and the City will make an appearance in a scene of the sequel to the series And Just like That. After years away from the rest of the cast, the actress will be back for one (very short) appearance in an episode of the second season.

No one had seen it coming, yet. Kim Cattrall will reprise her role as the iconic Samantha Jones From Sex and the city later in the series, That’s it on HBO, as announced variety May 31st.

However, the moment Samantha delighted us by multiplying one-night stands and eccentric strategies to seduce her squash it doesn’t seem like it right away. The character will only return for only one scenein the last episode of the second season.

Second varietywill be a sequence in telephone, in which Samantha will exchange with the character of Carrie, after the two former friends planned to reconcile over a text exchange in the first season. From the columns of the American magazine we learn that Kim Cattrall shot her dialogues in one day, without having had the slightest exchange with the other actresses or even with the showrunner of the series, Michael Patrick King.

…but not in real life

By staging the reconciliation between former friends Carrie and Samantha, That’s it it is placed right in the fiction given that in reality the relationship between Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall are disastrous. The latter has accused her three playmates for years of having sidelined her during the filming of the series.

In 2018, their disagreement erupted on Instagram after Sarah Jessica Parker expressed her condolences to Kim Cattrall following her brother’s tragic passing. The actress then responded with a provocative message, accusing her former playmate of being one “hypocritical” :

The fact that you continually contact me is a painful reminder of the cruelty you have shown then and now. Let me be VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You are not my family. You are not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy to restore your “good girl” image.
