Monsters, clowns and an exorcism: this company reinvents theatre

On the occasion of the first Quartiers d’artistes of the Public Theater of Montreuil, the Munstrum theater (re)presented three singular shows. Chimeras, clowns and exorcisms, poetry advances in disguise.

It’s a polling institution run by an elephant. It’s a wasteland littered with plastic bottles. It is a village intoxicated by its own legends. It is every time a universe conducive to surprising creations in which the Munstrum Theater combines humor, horror and poetry. We see sometimes the Virgin, sometimes Marguerite Duras. But the sequel is yet to come.

The public slips on the edge of the seats, with their eyes wide open, so as not to miss anything of the singular universe of the Alsatian company. In this episode we will try to understand how such a unique leg can be renewed once again, after 10 years of existence. A generous, physical theater of rare precision.
