Air quality, transport, housing… Based on 22 criteria, “Le Parisien” has drawn up a ranking of the greenest cities in France.
Housing, green spaces, transport, car park cleaning, organic producers, air quality… In a ranking published on April 29, The Parisian has compiled a list of the greenest cities in France, where life is good.
And it is Bordeaux that is doing well, a western city that takes first place in the standings. According to the newspaper, it stands out in particular for its many cycle paths and its self-service bicycles, ranking 12th among the cycling cities in the world.
But Bordeaux took first place mainly thanks to its low greenhouse gas emissions, due to a large number of new low-energy houses.
Rennes, Grenoble and Paris in the top 10
Among the greenest cities where life is good, The Parisian ranks Rennes, Nantes, Angers, Toulouse or Vannes in the top ten, thanks to their eco-neighborhoods and the presence of numerous green spaces.
But surprise, Paris is also in the top 10. Thanks to the numerous public transports, the development of cycle paths and the pedestrianization of many streets, the capital rises to 8th place. However, these benefits do not overshadow the lack of green spaces and often degraded air quality. These points are especially important when you have small children.
One thing is certain, this classification, carried out on the basis of 22 criteria and having collected data from 444 municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants, could help parents choose a living environment for their children.
