DIY: a butterfly garden in farfalle pasta to keep the kids busy

It’s the holidays, it’s spring, how about organizing a small DIY activity? Here is the guide to making a butterfly garden in farfalle pasta (yes).

Do your children have a creative soul? Or do you want to keep yourself busy by making a cute spring-themed painting?

Nothing simpler, just follow the guide.

Butterflies butterflies, the very simple activity

To do this little business, you will need:

  • 5 or 6 raw farfalle
  • Markers
  • A sheet of paper
  • Strong glue (or patafix)

On the sheet, ask your child to draw a herb, like a garden, with longer or shorter stems. He can also decorate everything with the details he wants, like the sun, the clouds, the little ladybugs hanging from the leaves.

Then, take some raw farfalle – it’s pasta in the shape of butterflies – and ask him to color them completely, in the color he prefers.

Once the marker has dried (or the paint, if you have it in stock), all you have to do is glue or tape the butterflies onto the tall grass in the drawing. The child will then be able to draw the antennae of the butterflies, and add small details to make the drawing even more lively!

And now, it’s over! Finally a non-ugly design that can hang on the fridge, let’s not sulk for our pleasure.

To give you an example, here’s what it might look like:
