How to adopt lip basting?
The rite of Lip basting it comes in 3 main stages. Don’t panic, the latter doesn’t necessarily require you to indulge in cosmetic products since it consists of using 2 products that you can apply equally on your face, body or lips…
Step One: Apply glycolic acid to your lips
Just like skin, the lips must be exfoliated before being moisturized. But be careful, it’s not about using a granular scrub, which is far too aggressive for this fragile area of the face! A chemical exfoliant like glycolic acid will do just fine. The latter will remove dead cells without friction to allow the moisturizing active ingredients of the care to penetrate the epidermis. But be careful, you don’t need to apply tons of them. One drop for the whole mouth is more than enough.
Step Two: Add a thick layer of moisturizer
Once the glycolic acid has done its job, space for hydration. To do this, you can use a rich moisturizer with a relatively clean composition. To be applied in a thick layer (even if your lips are white at first), it will deeply nourish your skin.
Third step: let it dry
If you have applied your cream in a thick layer and a white film covers your lips, don’t panic, the treatment will gently but surely penetrate the skin. In just a few minutes (the time to put on make-up for example or to carry out your usual beauty routine), the cream will already have disappeared. And your lips will never have been so plump, plumped, hydrated and soothed.
Avoid over-moisturizing your lips
The problem with dry lips is that in addition to applying balm, you tend to moisten them very (too) regularly. If this gesture at first seems to calm the tension, it actually turns out to be counterproductive. For what ? good because saliva contains enzymes that aid digestion. By wetting your lips, you deposit these agents on your skin and they will start to attack and dry it out. Result? She’s dehydrated. Think about it when you feel like doing it next time…
