Two months later, Steve Harvey spoke to Will Smith, who beat Chris Rock at the Oscars.
During the talk at Georgia State University (with the first report Atlanta Journal-Constitution covering the event)Harvey recalls that Sila was a “movement bum” and “lost great respect for him”.
She didn’t hold back her feelings about the situation and noted how faith helped her resolve problems in a nonviolent way. “I am a Christian, but really underdeveloped. I do not have a high level of Christianity. On a scale of 1 to 10, I’m like 2. “This is the level of Christianity I can work on,” Harvey said. “If you hit Teddy Jake, he’ll turn the other cheek. Are you kidding? If you sit in your chair, Jada [Will’s wife] I would have to get off the road. I’m very Christian.”
In April, Smith submitted his resignation from the academy, after which the academy issued a letter banning the actor from academy-related activities for 10 years, accepting the terms. “I accept and respect the academy’s decision,” Smith said in a brief statement shortly after AMPAS announced its view.
