Neil Patrick Harris will take the Broadway stage as a special guest star Peter Pan goes wrongThe producers announced today.
Harris will be in the comedy from Tuesday, April 11 to Sunday, April 30. He will appear in the role of Francis, a member of the Cornley Drama Society, who plays the narrator and others in the play-within-a-play. Peter Pan.
“I’m a huge fan of Team Mischief and physical comedy in general, so I jumped (fell?) at the opportunity to join their genius on stage,” Harris said in a statement. “However, the narrator usually sits in a chair and reads a book, so apparently no rehearsals are necessary. I guess that’s right… what could go wrong?”
Harris will not perform on Friday April 21 and the Saturday April 22 matinee.
Harris is the first special guest star for the Broadway engagement Peter Pan goes wrong. Other guest stars make occasional appearances, sometimes unannounced, during the run. Future guests will be announced later.
Peter Pan goes wrong by the international theater company Mischief, is now in previews and opens on Wednesday, April 19 at the Ethel Barrymore Theater for a limited engagement of 16 ½ weeks.
Harris is best known for his television roles in How I Met Your Mother And A chain of unfortunate eventsand his Tony Award-winning performance as Hedwig in the Broadway production of Hedwig and the bad thumb.
