Zero Gravity Management Draws Keenspot, Comic Artist Behind Hit Jennifer Lopez Pic ‘Marry Me’

EXCLUSIVE: Zero Gravity Management has signed his webcomic and graphic novel to transmedia company Keenspot Entertainment marry me by Bobby Crosby was recently adapted by Universal into the hit rom-com of the same name, starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

Released simultaneously in theaters and Peacock last year, marry Me debuted at #1 at the Valentine’s Day weekend box office and was also Peacock’s most-streamed day-and-date title to date.

The company behind the source material, co-founded by CEO Chris Crosby and President Bobby Crosby, began in 2000 as a pioneering webcomic publisher with billions of impressions on its website Keenspot.com and eventually expanded into print. Keenspot is now a leading independent publisher in comic shops around the world, with direct-to-market sales often on par with competitors such as Archie Comics. Keenspot also has a line of books distributed exclusively by Simon & Schuster.

Keenspot is currently producing a series adaptation of the comic book series Grubbs by Max Weaver, with the voices of Wil Wheaton, Jerry O’Connell, Jodie Sweetin, Jaleel White, Jason Marsden and Debi Derryberry. MJ Open (jade armor) will serve as showrunner, co-producer and voice director for the series, while Zero Gravity’s Glass House Studios will handle the animation.

The company is also currently developing a number of other IP-based projects from its library of over 100 titles, including softball team, based on Bobby Crosby’s videos, which have been viewed more than 800 million times on his YouTube channel, and the comic book spin-off that followed. The writer behind the animated series adaptation, which follows a ragtag group of amateur softball players as they adventure through space and time Spongebob SquarepantsEmmy nominee Richard Pursel.

Pursel is also currently the showrunner for the animated series Keenspot Kung Fu Sleeve, based on the children’s comics by Michael Adams about a bean who gains consciousness and martial arts after being struck by lightning in space, then teams up with a young genius and her robot grandfather to save the multiverse. The fifth issue of this comic will be released on March 22, with a related book collection planned for the 2023 holiday season.

Among the Keenspot comics also actively developing for film and television is Bobby Crosby’s pre-World War II romance dreamless; Brett Murphys toysabout an inventor named Toy, who also happens to be one Is a toy; Troy Dongarras Kid Slap shot, watch as the last living human boy escapes a monster-infested planet after gaining space powers; Eric Klaus’ Ninjas and robots, in which an amnesiac ninja princess takes on robot overlords; Casey Bowkers caved out, follows two unlikely detectives as they track down a serial killer who stabs their victims; and Chris Crosbys god modeset in the early days of the Internet, a feisty Asian-American girl creates a gaming website that is taken over by an out-of-touch conglomerate.

Keenspot’s upcoming print comics include Danny Harrell’s Rebel Grrrls in July, the sci-fi comedy by Matt Fife and Matt Rodgers Happy astronaut in August and the 1890s Supernatural Western by Chris Crosby and Mike Rosenzweig Green in September. And the May launch as a Keenspot webcomic is owned by Amber Greenlee Captain T.

“My brother Bobby and I are thrilled to have Zero Gravity now representing Keenspot,” said Chris Crosby. “Very cool!”

“As a Keenspot comic creator, I’m thrilled to partner with Zero Gravity to adapt our characters to other media,” she added Immortal Comic creator Rob Potchak, who serves as associate editor for the Keenspot comic series.
