Late Night Hosts Revel in Donald Trump’s Charge: ‘Alvin Bragg Better Some Small Handcuffs’

Tonight’s indictment of Donald Trump quickly became tonight’s punch line for late night TV anchors.

Innkeeper John Leguizamo The daily show On Comedy Central, he reveled in the news caused by alleged hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign. After showing a clip from a local New York TV news show, he said: “That’s right – Lady Justice usurped Trump’s p*ssy. And you know I’m against mass incarceration, but I’m willing to make an exception for it. I just hope they make it easy for him and put him in a cell with his lawyer.”

Leguizamo later had New York representative Ritchie Torres, who, as it turned out, seemed equally suited to host the show as a guest on it. Torres was armed with a bunch of good George Santos jokes, as well as one about Trump.

“Of all the crimes he’s committed in his life,” Torres said, “I never in my wildest dreams thought he’d be brought down by tacitly paying a porn star. So he is like the Al Capone of American politics.

Meanwhile on NBC, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon also tapped into the day’s big news and released a supercut mashup of Trump singing — and dancing — along with a streamlined version of an ’80s Pointer Sisters hit:

But alas for NBC’s late-night show:

CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had counsel for the Manhattan district attorney who brought charges against the former Pupils Host: “Alvin Bragg better have some handcuffs,” he tweeted. Another social post features host Stephen Colbert enjoying the opening day of Major League Baseball, and something else:

ABC Jimmy KimmelLive! tweeted a photo of a thirsty POTUS 45 taking a sip of water with both hands, the only way he could get to Surrender Day:

Kimmel later tweeted a video of the host walking out to thunderous applause, hugging a flag and taking a page from Trump’s book. “A day many of us thought would never come!” read the caption.

Kimmel also tweeted an Orange Is the New Black-inspired deepfake video of Trump considering getting out of jail.

Even Fox News’ Gutfeld! chimed in – with a promo about who’s on the show tonight:

We will add more videos as they become available.
