Is it a bird, is it a plane? No, it’s a Concorde-shaped superyacht: luxury 425-foot hydrofoil “Thunder Bird” with glass decks, spa and pool unveiled in concept design

A designer has unveiled stunning concept plans for a superyacht in the shape of a Concorde.

The 425-foot luxury vessel — complete with glass decks, spa and pool — was designed by Turkish yacht designer Aras Kazar.

The boat is a trimaran as it has three hulls and is equipped with electric and hydrofoil technology, giving it a top speed of 32 knots.

Kazar named his creation Wakinyan, a Lakota word for thunder.

He said: “The word is usually translated as ‘thunder spirits’, ‘thunder beings’ or ‘thunder birds’.”

Kazar said, “The fully glazed decks offer nearly 360-degree views with plenty of natural light for the interior.”

Kazar described the yacht: “This floating bird on the water is 130 meters long. I followed my clear line in this project.

The designer said Wakinyan is at “concept level” but could go into production if an investor is found. There is currently no estimated price for the model.

“The interior design follows the soft, fluffy, cloudy feel of the exterior. Wakinyan is designed to make you feel calm and relaxed, whether you’re enjoying it on the inside or just looking at it on the outside.”

The yacht also houses five “soft, comfortable, cloudy” bedrooms and a master bedroom.

Wakinyan is the latest venture from Kazar, which specializes in “minimalist, futuristic and sleek” designs and has a portfolio of superyacht concepts.

Last year, he presented his design for Ono, a Spartan helmet-inspired glass and metal “floating mansion” complete with rooftop solar panels.

Jeff Bezos’ $500 million superyacht Koru, codenamed Y721, was spotted in the North Sea in February after leaving Rotterdam, according to images from the organization Dutch Yachting.

The trial run of the 417-foot vessel came months after it was originally scheduled to be delivered to the Amazon founder.

The superyacht requires a 250-foot support ship with a helipad.

Koru sparked controversy last year after reports that Dutch officials had to demolish the historic Koningshaven Bridge because the 40-meter-high steel structure was not big enough to accommodate Koru’s 70-meter-high masts.
