Ke Huy Quan wins Best Supporting Actor Everything, everywhere, all at once gave the Oscars an early emotional high.

After a standing ovation, Quan fought back tears as he discussed his journey from Vietnam to the Oscars stage. “My mother is 84 years old and watches at home,” he said in his speech. “Mom, I just won an Oscar!”

He added: “My journey started on a boat. I spent a year in a refugee camp and somehow ended up here on the biggest stage in Hollywood. It is said that such stories only exist in movies. I can’t believe this is happening to me. This, this is the American dream.”
