‘The Little Mermaid’ trailer: Halle Bailey, Javier Bardem and Melissa McCarthy bring the Disney classic to life

The first preview of “The Little Mermaid” introduced us to Halle Bailey as the sea creature, her spectacular voice and the traces of the settings that we recognize from the original animated film. Disney has finally released a proper trailertaking advantage of the Oscars, where we learn more about the live action adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen classic that Rob Marshall brings to the big screen in May.

In the video we see more of the mermaid Ariel, daughter of Triton (Javier Bardem), who is willing to do anything to get out of the depths of the ocean to the surface, even if it means making a deal with the villain of the seas, the evil Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), to turn her tail into human legs in exchange for her voice. As it could not be otherwise, she is accompanied by the faithful Sebastian (Daveed Diggs) and will meet the young prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King).
