The General Treasury of France “freezes” a villa in Saint-Tropez, which, against the background of the Russian Federation’s military special operation in Ukraine, may belong to the family of Russian billionaire Mikhail Fridman. Reported by The Insider* with reference to the department.

According to journalists, the villa belongs to the French company SNC COPAB, whose beneficiaries are Fridman’s daughters Larisa and Ekaterina.

The family rented the villa on the territory of which there is a swimming pool, sauna and hammam, jacuzzi and helipad – the income from this ranged from 180 to 440 thousand euros per month.

Mikhail Fridman became one of the first Russian oligarchs to come under Western sanctions for Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. Although Friedman condemned the military special operation, the billionaire’s accounts were blocked – he complained to Bloomberg about the difficult financial situation and admitted that he could not even pay for the cleaning of his London mansion.

Against the backdrop of a tense political situation, the property of many Russian businessmen and officials who were abroad was arrested. It was learned that villas belonging to Oleg Deripaska and Kirill Shamalov were also arrested in France last week.
