While many of us hope one day to master Bella Haddid’s detached chignon technique, it’s clear that it’s not tomorrow that we’ll be ditching our scrunchies for good. The twisted plastic models, which made the success of the Invisibobble brand (in the house we speak of “hair hinges”), are increasingly popular in hairdressing routines: in addition to holding the hair in place, they limit the risk of knots and breakage , even on wet hair. Yes, they would be really perfect if they didn’t tend to lose shape and sag over time… Luckily a very simple trick allows you to restore their full tone in minutes ! We explain how to play it at home, TikTok videos to support.
The boiling bain-marie, the trick for twisted rubber bands like new
Invisibobble Twist Scrunchies are made from a material that shrinks in contact with heat. Instead of throwing them away after a few months of use, you can then restore them to their original shape with a nice heat shot!
The most popular method is to boil water in a saucepan and then pour it into it leave the rubber bands to soak for a few seconds, until they returned to their original size. Simple and terribly effective!

And if you’re too lazy to take out a saucepan, you can also use your kettle to heat water and pour it directly onto the rubber bands, previously placed at the bottom of a glass. And the results are almost immediate!

Thanks to this trick, you will be able to use your Invisibobbles longer (and therefore repurchase them less often). But be careful: after a certain number of dips in hot water, the glue that holds the two parts of the elastic ends up melting. It then becomes unusable.
