Thus, it became known that today 10 stores of the Belarusian analogue of IKEA, called Swed House, can be opened in Moscow. This information was reported by TASS with reference to Bulat Shakirov, President of the Association of Shopping Centers.

Our union signed a cooperation agreement with Swed House, which produces products similar to IKEA, to open 10 stores in Moscow in 2023, up to an area of ​​1 thousand square meters. m,” said the President of the Association of Shopping Centers. Shakirov also noted that the number of stores will increase to 50 in the coming years. He added that negotiations are continuing for Swed House to become a tenant of Mega shopping malls.

Recall that in March last year it was learned that IKEA temporarily closed stores in Russia. In the summer of 2022, the company reportedly does not plan to sell the business and plans to return in a year or two. “At the same time, the company retains around 700 employees who will continue to work in offices and work for their Swedish colleagues,” a source told TASS.
