A mother and her one-year-old baby are missing and feared dead after a bridge collapsed with more than 100 carnival-goers in Brazil.
The disaster occurred when the pedestrian bridge connecting Torres and the Passo de Torres over the Mampituba River gave way as revelers returned to their homes in the early hours of the morning after the carnival.
Horrifying footage just before the collapse showed a group of revelers gathered on the pavement as cables began swinging overhead.
Then suddenly the cables snap, the narrow sidewalk slams, and the unsuspecting revelers are thrown down into the river.
Some desperately cling to the debris of the bridge to keep from falling into the water, while others scream for help and try to swim to safety.

The disaster occurred when the pedestrian bridge connecting Torres and the Passo de Torres over the Mampituba River gave way as revelers returned to their homes in the early hours of the morning after the carnival.
Firefighters said they pulled about 30 people from the water around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning, many of them injured.
At least three people are still missing, including a mother and her one-year-old son.
Student Luciana Soares Tavares – who was on the bridge – told local media: “By the time we realized what was happening, we had already fallen into the water.
“It happened very quickly. All we heard was people falling into the water and seeing people coming up to the surface. We were afraid; we were absolutely desperate.”
Tourism Minister Matheus Junges said a group of people returned to Torres from Passo de Torres after a carnival.
