You won’t see anything cuter than this today: two penguin cubs hatched in Moscow Zoo

It’s time for good news, but no less important (according to our editors). Two baby penguins hatched in Moscow Zoo! The miracle happened earlier this year.

“Two Humboldt penguin cubs were born at the Moscow Zoo on January 1 and 3, and the first hatched in the New Year from December 31 to January 1,” the press service said. It has been reported that their gender will not be revealed until a few months later.

They also added that the crumbs feel good and are constantly gaining weight. “The parents are Nagainya and Tolstaya. This is an experienced couple that has been breeding steadily for five years. The help of zoologists and veterinarians was not needed in the care of the chicks – adult penguins do a great job on their own.

“This is a very short procedure that takes no more than a few minutes to minimize possible discomfort to the birds. Penguin chicks are weighed and examined in case of malnutrition or other potential problems. At the same time, the nest is disinfected,” said Svetlana Akulova, Director General of the Moscow Zoo.
