AMC Networks Reveals CEO Salary In 2021: Former Boss Josh Sapan Earns $ 15.3 Million, Acting Boss Matt Blank $ 7 Million

Matt Blanc, CEO of AMC Networks, received just $ 7 million in compensation in 2021, according to a SEC-appointed representative.

Blanc’s predecessor, company veteran Josh Sapan, received nearly $ 15.3 million, up from $ 11.8 million in 2020, but is down from the $ 20.2 million package in 2019. Sapani is now the company’s executive vice president.

The corner office change went into effect on September 8 last year.

Former Showtime CEO Blank received a base salary of $ 630,136 from AMC. He received an additional $ 4.5 million in stock rewards and much of the rest as no-incentive pay.

According to the bankruptcy trustee, the company has scheduled its annual shareholders’ meeting for June 16. Among the items on the agenda of the meeting will be the re-election of the directors. The Dolan family has long controlled the holding in AMC Networks, created by former Cablevision subsidiary Rainbow Media, with three generations of the family serving on the board. Along with former Cablevision CEO and industry pioneer Chuck Dolan, 95, the directors also include his four children, as well as daughter-in-law Christine and granddaughter Aidan, who joined the board last year at age of 29 years.
