The movie will premiere on EFM this year. The MPI Media Group is responsible for international sales.
The picture follows Emmett (Gallner) as he plans to sell his recently deceased mother’s house. However, when he and his fiancee Anya (Roden) spend a night on the farm, memories of child abuse soon surface.
Anya tries to force Emmett to work through his trauma and make him the partner she needs. She persuades him to take mushrooms to free him. But as they stumble, something strange happens: she acts like his mother. The next morning he wakes up sober, but she still doesn’t stop acting. Anya loves to play games – is she going too far? Or had his mother’s spirit somehow possessed her? The cast also includes Chris Mulkey (twin peaks).
The film will be released in US theaters this summer by Dark Sky Films.
Producers include Dane Eckerle, Daniel Brandt and Daisy Long. Holland Roden is also producing the film with Cole Eckerle. Executive producers are Sam Slater, Paul Bernon and Phil Keefe of Burn Later Productions, along with Raj Trivedi and Alex Whitney.
