Netflix refuses to work on Meghan Markle’s animated series

Netflix has decided to withdraw from the Meghan Markle animated series as part of its budget cut program, ET reported.
The company was forced to revise costs due to the sharp decline in subscriber numbers – in the first quarter of this year, the streaming service lost about two hundred thousand viewers. Nearly two million more users are expected to disable Netflix in the coming months. This is associated with a special operation in Ukraine and an increase in the cost of subscriptions in the main markets.
Recall that last year Meghan Markle and Prince Harry signed a multi-million dollar contract with Netflix to produce various projects, including the family animated series The Pearl. The plot is built around a 12-year-old girl inspired by the legacy of famous women “on the path to self-discovery”.
The cartoon was created by Archewell Productions, founded by Harry and Megan, and executive produced by the Duchess herself and Elton John’s husband, film director David Furnish.

However, Netflix will continue to work with Archewell Productions on a number of other projects, including Prince Harry’s documentary Heart of the Undefeated, which focuses on Invictus Games. Recently, the Netflix team even accompanied the Dukes of Sussex to the Netherlands for this tournament.
