MLB Network has been pulled from the YouTube TV series due to a breakdown in contract talks

MLB Network was removed from the YouTube TV platform on Tuesday as talks over a new carriage deal collapsed.

YouTube TV wrote in a message to its subscribers today that the two parties have not reached an agreement on a new agreement and that “as of today, January 31, 2023, content from the MLB Network will no longer be available on YouTube TV will not be.”

As part of the move, subscribers will also lose access to the channel’s previous library recordings.

MLB Network, which provided live coverage of the Baseball Hall of Fame election results last week, said in a statement: “As spring training approaches, we regret that YouTube TV was not willing to provide a fair carriage agreement MLB Network offered terms similar to those nearly 300 other US airlines have agreed to distribute.

Both sides say they are committed to continuing talks about a new deal, but YouTube TV has offered alternative baseball coverage options on the basic plan, while MLB Network has provided a list of other distributors that still offer them.

“Given the high demand and value of live baseball content, Major League Baseball’s commitment to the MLB Network is stronger than ever, now and in the future, and we remain open and committed to closing a deal with YouTube TV as soon as possible to achieve.” the network called it.

“We apologize for the news and will continue discussions with MLB to advocate for you in hopes of restoring their content to YouTube TV,” YouTube TV wrote.
