Priscilla Presley disputes the validity of late daughter Lisa Marie’s will

Actress Priscilla Presley has filed a petition to challenge the validity of her late daughter Lisa Marie Presley’s will. Lisa Marie died on January 12 at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Her mother’s lawsuit challenges a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie’s will that excluded Priscilla as executor of the estate. However, Priscilla Presley’s lawyers argue that the document misspelled her name and contained a signature that various media reports “appear to be inconsistent with[Lisa Marie se]customary and customary signature.”

In the filing before Los Angeles Superior Court last Thursday, Priscilla Presley’s lawyers said she was only aware of the “alleged 2016 change” after Lisa Marie’s death. The lawyers also argue that the amendment was never presented to her client during Lisa Marie’s lifetime “as required by the express terms of the trust” and that the document was not witnessed or notarized.

The change removes Priscilla and Lisa Marie’s former CEO Barry Siegel as co-trustees and replaces them with Lisa Marie’s oldest children, Riley and Benjamin Keough. The last died in 2020.

According to Los Angeles Timesnotes that Priscilla Presley believes Siegel “has already resigned or will soon resign as co-trustee,” which would place Riley Keough as co-trustee with her grandmother.

“The purported 2016 amendment must be deemed invalid and the Trust, as amended and fully reproduced in 2010, is the controlling and governing document and the administered provisions thereof,” the petition states.

Last week, a public memorial service was held for Lisa Marie at Graceland, where Priscilla shared a poem by one of Lisa Marie’s daughters, saying, “Our hearts are broken, Lisa. We all love you.”
