Rupert Grint talked about the death of some of the iconic and beloved actors who played the main roles in the Harry Potter series.

Among the names he mentioned in his last interview were Richard Harris, who played Albus Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films, Alan Rickman, who played Severus Snape, and Robbie Coltrane, who is known to viewers as the good-natured Hagrid. Richard’s death was the first loss of his life: “I was 13 and was in a hotel promoting a second movie when I was told. It was hard to imagine,” GQ said.

Speaking of deceased actors, he said they were like family. “Not parents, uncles or grandparents. All of them had such a subconscious presence in my life.”
“And Robbie, it was especially hard to lose him. He really was the most wonderful creature,” Rupert shared. But when asked why he didn’t attend Robbie’s funeral, he replied, “I don’t claim to know him outside of work.”
