The platform claims to have collected more than 1.1 million individual tickets in the first 20 weeks. The program runs until 2023.

Since then, genuine collector tickets have been issued for more than 50 films, including Jordan Peeles no and comics like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Black Adamand more recently that of James Cameron avatar continuation The path of the water.

The platform says it has seen more than 5,500,000 users engage with storytelling, discovery, gaming and Lens AR experiences in the past 24 months.

“We see a clear correlation between AR usage and increased commercial activity on our mobile app,” said Chris Sylvia, VP Digital and Media at Regal. “The Collectible Ticket Program gives us a unique, tangible way to connect with our loyal customers and empowers our moviegoers to take control of their on-shelf cinema experience.”

James Andrew Felts, founder and CEO of Real added, “Augmented reality creates a tangible sense of experiential ownership – a term we use to describe that deep personal connection with the content we love most. To ‘ Collecting an AR ticket generates the same excitement and sense of belonging that comes from hanging a poster on the wall, organizing a special photo album, or storing a shoebox full of tickets.

The Really AR platform will continue to provide new digital collectibles and experiences for upcoming films released on Regal and will expand to Web3 offerings in 2023, starting with Proof-of-Attendance (POA) collectibles – custom fan tokens which will be awarded based on the number of Regal Collectible Tickets purchased by a cinemagoer in a given month. POA collectors can unlock token-gated content, such as virtual live events, games and more, based on the number of collectibles a user claims and the rarity achieved.

“Moviegoers are the cream of the crop of entertainment customers,” Felts said. “We are focused on delivering the next generation of digital experiences for customers who are actively engaged in entertainment at every level, in real life and in the digital world.”
