On Wednesday, CNN unveiled an overhaul of its daily lineup, with plans for morning and afternoon programming blocks that would anchor each trio pair.
John Berman, Kate Bolduan and Sara Sidner will host weekdays from 9:00 am. ET to 12:00 p.m. ET to host a stand-alone show in New York. Brianna Keilar, Boris Sanchez and Jim Sciutto will anchor from Washington from 1:00 PM ET to 4:00 PM ET. within politics stays at 12:00 p.m. ET, anchored by John King.
Other changes: Victor Blackwell will now anchor and co-anchor Saturday at 10 a.m. ET CNN this morning Weekend with Amara Walker from Atlanta. Alisyn Camerota, who intervened cnn tonight, now focuses exclusively on the 10pm show and Laura Coates focuses exclusively on the 11pm show. Jim Acosta will also expand his role over the weekend and will now anchor Saturdays from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Sundays from 4:00pm to 7:00pm CNN newsroom Weekend.
Chris Licht, Chairman and CEO of CNN Worldwide, said in a statement: “We are drawing on our greatest strengths, showcasing our unparalleled news collection and giving our anchors room to be more authentic. We have seen our audience on this format responsive and we believe this will put us in a strong position in the evening and peak hours.
No date has been announced for when the changes will begin, but they are expected in the spring.
