Stephanie McMahon said Tuesday she is stepping down as WWE co-CEO a week after her father Vince announced plans to return as executive chairman to oversee the next round of rights deals and a possible sale.
The younger McMahon announced this via Twitter. Former CEO Vince McMahon resigned in July amid a scandal surrounding women’s payouts. When he returned last week, he turned the company’s board on its head – adding himself and two allies and ousting three other directors – but said he would leave management intact. He is the majority shareholder of WWE with an 80% stake.
