5 Stories Of Selfless Strangers Who Restore Trust In Humanity

In brief moments of grace, strangers sometimes have gestures that can save a day, a week, or even a life. We have selected the five most pleasant stories of the genre on Reddit France.

Did you meet someone who saved your life? Who did you a huge favor? Or who just made you smile? It is time in this month of December to regain faith in humanity. »

It is with these sentences that a Reddit user invited the French men and women of the r/france subreddit to come and tell the most touching moments lived with unknown people, and the most disinterested gestures to have illuminated their daily lives.

We have selected the 5 most beautiful stories – in our opinion – of this conversation!

A true family of warriors

It’s a user under the pseudonym Deneive who says:

Once I got off the bus, a stranger got off at my stop, grabbed me by the arm and started pulling me into an alley. No matter how hard I struggled, he was squeezing hard.

This is a mom with a stroller and two kids who saved me. He punched the boy yelling that he would call the police and an ambulance when he was done with him. He ran away.

He accompanied me to the police station and his son held my hand along the way “so that I was not afraid”. A true family of warriors, I wish I had properly thanked them at the time. »

Be nice to your neighbors

User Darklee36, meanwhile, explains that it was his neighbor who gave him the moment he’s most grateful for:

I broke my foot in a motorcycle accident two or three weeks before my first delivery.

I had never met my neighbor […] but when I went knocking on her house during delivery because I had nothing left to eat, when I asked her if she could pick up an order for me at the drive-thru, he just took my car keys and took me shopping. We waited in line for over an hour that day. And she helped me until the end of the birth.

Even though I’ve offered her sushi whenever I could, I find I’ve never thanked her enough. »

When strangers come to you

Sometimes these well-meaning people come knocking on our door. This is the case of Lilyfrommars, who states:

I was at home and someone knocked on the door. I open and see two small young men in the rain with a car key in my hand, wondering if this key is mine. They found her on the ground a little further into the village. They were knocking on all doors to find the owner of this key.

It was my key, I didn’t have a duplicate and I didn’t even realize I left it on the street. They flatly refused to give them a thank you note. Thanks again guys. »

The Kinder Bueno that saves an exam

Have you ever seen a stranger come to your rescue in a moment of vulnerability? I do, and frankly, I still think about this person a lot. This is also the case for user Gefruschtuck, who says:

When I was a student, standing and compressed one morning in the obviously crowded RER A at rush hour, I suddenly felt really bad. I feel dizzy, nauseous, my legs can no longer hold up… I have to get out of the oar.

The train takes a lead of 3, rolls in slow motion […] and obviously, I end up throwing up in the crowd on the train […] It’s hell. […] I stagger out and find a garbage can for a second round of vomiting. I’ll sit down to recover a bit when a lady in her thirties comes out of nowhere and he hands me a Kinder Bueno and a bottle of water he had just bought from a vending machine.

Wait, this will do you good.

He was in the furthest train, he saw me and got out when it wasn’t his station. She made sure I got some color before leaving wishing me a good day. 15 minutes later, things were better and I was able to go to my exam, which I passed with flying colours. The best Kinder Bueno of my life. »

People who help people who help them

We conclude this selection in a good mood with the story of a virtuous circle: an anonymous user on Reddit tells how, after helping someone, he found her to thank her in return!

A person completely lost in Paris and visibly panicked asked me for directions: I told him which roads to take, I wrote it on a piece of paper. He thanked me so much and I forgot about her for a week.

As I leave university, I meet this person again, that he had waited for three hours hoping to see me again with a box of candied chestnuts to thank me for showing him his way. »

Come on, at the beginning of the year, let’s regain some faith in our neighbor: human beings are capable of being as surprising as they are disinterested!
