Previews begin March 17 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre. Peter Pan goes wrong opens April 19 for limited engagement.
Co-written by company members of UK comedy and drama company Mischief, Peter Pan goes wrong debuted at the Pleasance Theater in London in December 2013 and after a UK tour in 2014 moved to the Apollo Theater in the West End for a Christmas season in 2015. The popular show returned to the West End the following year for another Christmas season. The play was also adapted into an hour-long BBC One television special on 31 December 2016.
The Broadway cast of Peter Pan goes wrong With Chris Leask, Henry Lewis, Ellie Morris, Charlie Russell, Jonathan Sayer, Henry Shields, Greg Tannahill and Nancy Zamit. Adam Meggido will direct, with set design by Simon Scullion, costumes by Roberto Surace, lighting by Matt Haskins, sound by Ella Wahlstrom, co-composers by Richard Baker and Rob Falconer.
Peter Pan goes wrong is produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Kenny Wax, Stage Presence and Catherine Schreiber. The show is in partnership with Mischief Worldwide Ltd. gifts.
Co-written by Mischief Company members (and cast members) Lewis, Sayer and Shields, Peter Pan goes wrong is described by the production as “an intensely physical comedy filled with finely tuned and inspired slapstick delivered with split-second timing and ambitious audacity. The play sees the ‘Cornley Drama Society’ back on stage, struggling with technical hiccups, flying mistakes and casting disputes as they attempt to present JM Barrie’s beloved story. But will they ever reach Neverland?”
The comedy will open in North America in 2022 at the Citadel Theater in Edmonton, Canada.
