After parting ways with his record label and management, Morrissey now says Miley Cyrus wants her guest photo removed from his Next Hidden album

Heaven knows he is unhappy now. Anew.

In a brief post on his official website, titled “Roll On 2023,” Smith’s expatriate Morrissey said he had “voluntarily parted ways” with his label Capitol Records and his managers at Maverick and Quest Artist Management.

As if that wasn’t enough to get the singer’s legion of fans moving, he later posted — under the caption, “Miley Cyrus is a punk rocker” — that the “Wrecking Ball” and “Midnight Sky” singer was one song they collaborated on for his upcoming “hidden” album Teenagers campfire.

“Miley Cyrus now wants to be removed from the song ‘I Am Veronica’, on which she voluntarily provided background vocals almost two years ago,” reads the report on Morrissey-Solo.com. “This comes at a time when Morrissey has distanced himself from Capitol Records (Los Angeles), who controlled the hidden album. Teenagers campfire.”

He also posted a playful photo of the pair from the song session.

Morrissey, the English singer who fronted The Smiths from 1982 to 1987 and had a successful solo career, has announced Teenagers campfire in a since-deleted post from late October. The CD, which also features collaborations with acts such as Iggy Pop, Josh Klinghoffer and Flea and Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is now in limbo.

The post also revealed a North American tour in 2023 and that Capitol would be re-leasing some of its back catalog albums, including those from 1995. Southpaw Grammar and mid-2000s sets you are the quarry and leader of the torturers. The latter two were originally on Sanctuary Records and Southpaw Grammar was originally released in the UK by RCA, which has been home to Cyrus for almost a decade.

A controversial figure for decades, Morrissey recently joined the far-right British political party For Britain. He has also received renewed attention for his views on such hot-button issues as immigration and the #MeToo movement. He also angered fans in Los Angeles last month when he left a concert at the Greek Theater without explanation after about half an hour.

Morrissey’s manager in April 2021 The Simpsons well-known after the long-running Fox Toon comedy spotlighted a “depressed 1980s British singer” named Quilloughby, who was an imaginary friend of Lisa Simpson. The Morrissey-inspired character was introduced in the episode titled “Panic on the Streets of Springfield.”
