Gynaecologist Olga Ulankina has stated that lace underwear can be worn on a daily basis, speaking in a report by Ekaterina Eshtokina published on Life.ru.
The medical specialist explained that daily wear is suitable provided buyers consider fabric composition, tailoring quality, and overall fit.
Ulankina noted that if lace underwear is manufactured using natural threads, women do not need to avoid wearing it regularly. She added that combining natural textiles with decorative lace elements is also appropriate for everyday use. However, she advised against the prolonged wearing of lace items made of synthetic fabric.
Choosing fabrics and avoiding irritation
Proper fit and moisture management are critical factors in preserving skin health. Ulankina stressed that underwear models must fit loosely and comfortably on the body, allow moisture to escape, and feature decorative elements that do not rub against the skin.
Skin sensitivity increases significantly during hot weather or when engaging in physical exercise. Under those conditions, coarse fabrics create harsher friction against delicate skin, while fabrics that fail to wick moisture lead to sweat accumulation.
Ulankina cautioned that this combination can result in localized redness, persistent itching, and general physical discomfort. Gynaecology, the medical specialty focused on female reproductive and physical health, frequently addresses contact irritation caused by synthetic textile friction.
Natural fibers such as cotton are widely recognized in medical reference works for their breathability and moisture control. Conversely, standard artificial textiles can trap heat and perspiration against the body if airflow is restricted.
Despite these risks, Ulankina emphasized that it is incorrect to categorize all synthetic materials as harmful. She concluded that modern artificial textiles differ noticeably in their structural properties, with many modern synthetic blends engineered specifically for breathability.
