Spanish television personality Kiko Hernández marked his 50th birthday by sharing a jacuzzi photograph and a tribute to his husband Fran Antón on Instagram.
The former television star posted the intimate image alongside an extended message reflecting on his personal life, his television career, and his relationship with the theatre producer.
Hernández, who has stepped back from mainstream broadcasting following the end of the long-running entertainment show Sálvame, described himself as being at a deeply fulfilled stage in his life. He shared the emotional statement with his followers to make public his ongoing devotion to Antón.
The photograph shows the couple embracing inside a jacuzzi. In his written post, Hernández explained that reaching half a century provided a moment to put his life in order and evaluate his journey.
Hernández wrote that at this stage of his life he was no longer interested in half measures. He added that he knew exactly who had stood by him in the past, who remained present in his life now, and who he wished to move forward with in the future.
Reflections on half a century
Looking back over his 50 years, the television collaborator noted that he had lived through a wide range of experiences. He stated that he had experienced career successes, failures, applause, setbacks, wonderful days, and difficult moments he would have preferred to erase from the calendar.
Hernández added that he had met many people throughout his life, noting that while some remained with him, others had passed through simply to teach him a lesson. He explained that his life changed when he met Antón in the theatre, with the actor eventually becoming his life partner and an essential pillar for both himself and his daughters.
Addressing Antón directly, Hernández stated that his husband had not promised him a perfect life, but had made his existence much more beautiful. He acknowledged that Antón truly understood his character, personal habits, good days, unbearable moments, fears, conflicts, and scars, yet chose to stay by his side regardless, describing that devotion as true love.
Redefining success and future plans
Hernández stressed that he felt no need to pretend his path to 50 had been easy, as it had involved significant challenges. However, he declared that he would willingly go through every difficulty again if it led to Antón at the end of the road, adding that he did not seek another 50 perfect years, but wanted those years with his husband.
He outlined his hopes for their future together, stating that he wanted to continue laughing with Antón until their stomachs hurt. He added that he wished to keep arguing over minor issues, reconciling five minutes later, and continuing to travel, dream, fall, and pick themselves up together.
Hernández built a prominent career as a media commentator and television presenter in Spain, becoming a central figure on Telecinco for more than two decades. He gained widespread national recognition on the daily celebrity gossip programme Sálvame, which dominated Spanish daytime television until the franchise came to an end.
In his birthday message, Hernández admitted that he had previously defined success in terms of fame and financial wealth. He credited Antón with helping him realize that true success extended beyond material achievements, explaining that while reaching 50 was a privilege, arriving at that milestone with genuine love meant he had won.
Thanking Antón for serving as his husband, partner, shelter, and home, Hernández concluded that his birthday was a celebration of how life had brought them together. He declared that if he were to be born again, Antón would be his choice.
