Actor Jamie Foxx revealed he was initially hesitant about expecting a baby with girlfriend Alyce Huckstepp before an encounter with Al Pacino dispelled his concerns.
The 58-year-old Oscar winner made the admission during an exclusive E! News interview alongside his 32-year-old daughter Corinne Foxx, following confirmation in May 2026 that he and Huckstepp, his fitness instructor girlfriend of several years, are expecting a child.
"Being my age, I was a little on the fence," Foxx told interviewer Erin Lim Rhodes. "But then I ran into Al Pacino a few months ago."
Foxx, who is already father to 17-year-old Anelise with ex Kristin Grannis and Corinne with ex Connie Klein, joked that Pacino welcoming a child at age 83 in 2023 quelled his doubts. "I said, 'Al, you gonna be back in the drop off line?'" Foxx quipped. "I said, aw man, shoot I'm good."
Corinne expressed excitement about her father welcoming a new baby, highlighting his dedication as both a parent and a colleague. The pair have co-hosted the game show Beat Shazam for eight years, which airs Mondays and Tuesdays on Fox and will air its 100th episode on ABC on Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. ET.
"I grew up going to set with my dad and watching him work from behind the camera," Corinne explained. "But then to be his coworker and the level of professionalism but also, he's so light and so funny."
Corinne, who now oversees daily operations at her father's entertainment company, added that working with the Django Unchained star taught her that work does not have to be so serious to be great, noting that he sets the tone for everyone on set.
Foxx also reflected on surviving a near-fatal brain hemorrhage in 2023, saying it altered his perspective on life. "A few years back, I went through something horrible," Foxx said. "My daughter made sure I got back. Now, seeing that I have a new life and to have my daughters embrace it, that's all that matters, you know." He added that having a new life to live and share is part of living.
Reflecting on their joint hosting duties, the Amazing Spider-Man 2 star said watching Corinne grow over eight years has been special, adding that time flies when having fun with family.
Al Pacino and Robert De Niro
Foxx is among a growing number of high-profile figures who have welcomed children later in life. Oscar winner Al Pacino, now 86, became a father of four at 83 when his girlfriend Noor Alfallah gave birth to their son, Roman Pacino, on June 15, 2023. Before the birth, Pacino told a photographer on June 6 that having another child was very special.
Pacino was already father to daughter Julie Marie, born in 1989 to Jan Tarrant, and twins Anton James and Olivia Rose, born Jan. 25, 2001, to ex Beverly D'Angelo.
Fellow two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro was 79 when he and girlfriend Tiffany Chen welcomed his seventh child, daughter Gia Virginia Chen De Niro, on April 6, 2023. De Niro told Access Hollywood that fatherhood comes with responsibility, calling it a mystery filled with excitement and fear where you do your best.
De Niro's older children include daughter Drena De Niro, born Sept. 3, 1971, whom he adopted after marrying her mother Diahnne Abbot in 1976, and their son Raphael De Niro, born Nov. 9, 1976. Beatles legend Paul McCartney was 61 when his second wife Heather Mills gave birth to daughter Beatrice on Oct. 28, 2003, before their 2008 divorce. McCartney, who married Nancy Shevell in 2011, previously fathered Mary, Stella, and James with first wife Linda Eastman McCartney, while adopting her daughter Heather before Linda's death in 1998.

Anthony Quinn and Charlie Chaplin
Two-time Oscar winner Anthony Quinn had 12 children across three marriages and relationships, welcoming daughter Antonia Patricia Rose Quinn and son Ryan Nicholas Quinn when he was 82 with third wife Katherine Benvin, whom he married in 1997. Quinn told Larry King Live in 2000 that he was a better father later in life before passing away at age 86 in 2001.

Chaplin was 73 when his youngest child, Christopher James, was born on July 8, 1962. Musician Elton John was 63 when he and husband David Furnish welcomed son Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John via surrogate on Dec. 25, 2010, followed by son Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John on Jan. 11, 2013. John told The Mirror in 2016 that parenting changed everything, adding that small moments with his sons were worth more than hit records or art.
Furnish, who is 12 years John's junior, told the Sunday Times in 2015 that coming to parenting later provided maturity and comfort in his professional career.
Singer Billy Joel welcomed daughter Alexa Ray Joel with second wife Christie Brinkley on Dec. 29, 1985. He became a father again at 66 when fourth wife Alexis Roderick gave birth to daughter Della Rose Joel on Aug. 12, 2015, followed by daughter Remy Anne Joel on Oct. 22, 2017. Joel told Extra after Remy's birth that fatherhood felt fantastic.
Talk show host Larry King was married eight times to seven women, wedding Alene Akins twice between 1961 and 1972, and fathered five children. His children Andy and Chaia predeceased him in 2020 at ages 65 and 51 from a heart attack and lung cancer, respectively.
When King died at age 87 in 2021, he was survived by son Larry Jr., born in 1961 to second wife Annette Kaye, as well as sons Chance, born in March 1999 when King was 65, and Cannon, born in May 2000, with seventh wife Shawn Southwick. King told The Guardian in 2015 that he had previously put work first but realized nothing was more important than home life.
