According to official figures, death rates are not higher for people who have been vaccinated against Covid.
Leading statisticians charged with tracking all causes of death in England found the rates to be “consistent” between the unsampled and the fully sampled numbers.
The death rates were even higher among the unvaccinated, the numbers showed.
This destroys a key claim by anti-vaccinationists who falsely claim that lampreys are dying in greater numbers.
Analysts from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) looked at all deaths registered in England between 1 April 2021 and 31 December 2022.
Proportionally adjusted for the rate per 100,000 people across all ages, the rate of all-cause death is higher in the unvaccinated population than in the vaccinated population, the data show. Age-standardized mortality rates (ASMRs) are used to allow comparisons between populations, which may contain different proportions of people of different ages.
By 2021 and 2022, the death rate per 100,000 people across all ages in the unvaccinated population is also much higher than in the vaccinated for deaths from Covid, the ONS noted. As of April 2021, the death rate was 14.1 per 100,000 for those who had ever received a vaccination, compared to 131.1 per 100,000 for unvaccinated people. In December 2022, the rate was 35.5 per 100,000 among the vaccinated and 63.5 among the unvaccinated
Prices are given per 100,000 people to correct for the large numerical differences between groups.
For example, in December there were more than 33,000 deaths in people who had three injections.
In contrast, 1,100 deaths were recorded among the unvaccinated.
Still, tens of millions more people got three shots than those who avoided them altogether.
The data were also adjusted for age to account for deaths, which are more common among older people.
Because of the age-based prioritization of vaccination rollout, they were also more likely to receive a vaccine earlier—which can skew mortality analyses.

The data showed that the risk of death for people who had ever been vaccinated was consistently lower every month from April.
By December 2022, that rate had dropped significantly, with the unvaccinated reporting an age-standardized mortality rate (ASMR) of 1026.7 and those who had ever had a vaccination at 944.9.
For people who received a third dose or booster dose, the rate was 935.9.
Death rates should not be used as a measure of vaccine effectiveness, the ONS said.
Other differences between groups — especially underlying health conditions — influence death rates, she added.
Booster shots initially also targeted those who were clinically extremely vulnerable, the ONS said.
Therefore, “younger people who received booster shots initially had higher non-Covid death rates,” they added.
This is because the death rate in England returns to normal at this time of year.
There have been thousands of “excess deaths” since the summer, which anti-vaccination groups have claimed are to blame for vaccines.
They claim there is a link between the stitches and heart damage, which they believe has led to an increase in heart-related deaths.
But experts blame the NHS crisis – which has caused record numbers of ambulance waits and emergency room queues – as well as a relentless flu outbreak, freezing winter temperatures and the pandemic’s aftermath.

A recent analysis by MailOnline found that 75 Britons have died from complications from Covid vaccines, compared to nearly 220,000 deaths from the virus itself. MailOnline’s analysis used government data based on the National Immunization Management System (NIMS) for population estimates. Of the 75 in total, 59 are registered in England and 13 in Scotland. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), which oversees the safety of medicines used in the UK, only approved the vaccines after making sure they were safe.
More than 151 million Covid vaccines have now been distributed in the UK.
Health advisers have credited the vaccine push with drastically reducing the threat of the virus, which has saved tens of thousands of lives.
This allowed the nation to turn around and move on with life after the pandemic without leaving lockdown measures and restrictions behind.
Some Britons have raised concerns about the safety of the vaccine, with prominent vaccine critics calling for an urgent investigation into the harm.
As with any drug or vaccine, vaccinations carry risks. Most are mild, such as a sore arm, flu-like symptoms and headaches.
There was some concern after vaccines were found to cause myocarditis and pericarditis – an inflammation of the heart – in extremely rare cases, especially in young people.
However, leading heart experts insist that most cases are mild and that the vast majority make a full recovery.
There is no evidence that people are at risk of cardiac arrest after vaccination.
An analysis by MailOnline earlier this month found 75 Britons have died as a result of Covid vaccines.
