Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is returning to movie theaters across Peru starting Thursday, August 27, to mark its 25th anniversary.
Advance ticket presales are already active across the South American country's main cinema chains, including Cineplanet, Cinépolis, and Cinemark, for the special commemorative screenings.
The anniversary re-release will feature additional content and special activities alongside the feature film in a limited theatrical run. Moviegoers will be able to choose between dubbed and subtitled screenings, depending on the venue, with promotions and merchandise accompanying the event.
Screening dates and participating theaters
Cineplanet has confirmed screenings for Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28. Participating complexes across Peru include Alcázar, Arequipa Mall Plaza, Brasil, Cajamarca, Mall del Sur, Villa María del Triunfo, El Polo, San Borja, Chiclayo, and Huancayo, among others.
Screening times at Cineplanet will vary by location, offering both dubbed and subtitled options. The Peruvian multiplex operator will also issue limited commemorative tickets for the first attendees, subject to terms and conditions published on its official website.
Cinemark has also scheduled functions on August 27 and August 28 across venues including Chorrillos Cenco Lima Sur, Jockey Plaza, and Gamarra. In addition to movie tickets, the cinema chain will offer collectible cups and plush toys inspired by iconic characters from the story.
Cinépolis has extended its presale period through September 2, with functions scheduled at its Larcomar, Plaza Norte, and Santa Anita complexes in Lima. Depending on the chosen location, audiences can select between dubbed or subtitled versions.
Fan events and interactive activities
The re-release celebration in Peru includes dedicated fan events designed to recreate the magical atmosphere of the franchise beyond the movie screen.
On August 27, Cinemark Jockey Plaza will host a Fan Event featuring interactive dynamics and surprises for attendees. A second Fan Event will take place on August 30 at Cineplanet Salaverry, featuring prize raffles and themed experiences.

First released in 2001 under the direction of Chris Columbus and produced by Hollywood studio Warner Bros. Pictures, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone introduced Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint in the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
