Reality television star Harry Jowsey has denied claims that his televised wedding to Amber Mozo was fake, saying Netflix withheld the paperwork so public records would not spoil the finale of "Let's Marry Harry."
In an August 16 TikTok video, the 29-year-old Australian addressed viewers he called his "silly little wombats," explaining that submitting the marriage license immediately would have ruined the show, where he dated 20 fiancees.
"If they submitted it on that day, all the money, all the time, everything they invested in the show would've been for nothing because it would have been ruined," Jowsey said, noting audiences "wouldn't have watched" if they found the records ahead of time.
Jowsey, who previously appeared on "Too Hot to Handle" and acted in "Wrong Paris," said the couple can still choose to legalize the marriage. "You will see once the reunion is done and out there if it gets submitted, or it gets torn up," he said.
The podcaster admitted he knew little about weddings before filming. "I've never been married before. I don't know how a wedding works, I don't know the order of things, I don't know shit," he said. "On the day of the wedding, I just thought you show up, say 'I do,' have a little smooch, and get the hell out of there and go on our honeymoon."
He told E! News before the premiere that he felt a connection with Mozo early on after an "intimate moment" she asked him to keep secret. Though keeping their kiss hidden from fellow contestant Sam Kruse put him in a "difficult spot," Jowsey said prioritizing Mozo was a choice he "wouldn't change."
Jowsey and Mozo join a long list of couples whose relationships began on reality television.
Selling Sunset and The Bachelor
"Selling Sunset" star Chrishell Stause announced her relationship with nonbinary musician G Flip during the show's season five reunion in May 2022, following her splits from actor Justin Hartley and Jason Oppenheim. "It started because I was just going to be in their video," she said.
G Flip, a drummer and "The Traitors" contestant who starred in a steamy music video with Stause, told Vogue Australia they met at a 2021 Halloween party and began a romance in 2022. "We're both very secure in ourselves," G Flip said. "Like, we don't have crazy insecurities that then can really complicate a relationship. We've just got the most healthy relationship I've ever had." They married in Las Vegas in May 2023, with Stause writing on Instagram, "Love doesn't always go as planned... Sometimes it's immeasurably better."
"The Bachelor" season 28 star Joey Graziadei, a tennis teaching professional, and junior project manager Kelsey Anderson became engaged on the show in 2024. Graziadei later won season 33 of "Dancing With the Stars" with Anderson cheering him on. Moving in together and traveling, Anderson told E! News in February 2025 she wants a "beautiful, timeless wedding," though they have not set a date or destination.
In another "Bachelor" franchise relationship, Kansas State University alumnus Sean Lowe gave his final rose to graphic designer Catherine Giudici in 2013, marrying on television the next year. Now living in Texas with children Samuel, Isaiah and Mia, Lowe told E! in 2024, "Every once in a while, we'll stop and say, 'Did we really meet each other on that show?' Because it doesn't seem real. It's such a kind of wacky way to meet your spouse, but that's how we met and here we are 10 years later. We've created this beautiful family and beautiful home, and we're just very grateful."
Nurse Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner married on the first season of "Married at First Sight" in 2014, after Otis previously sought love in the "Bachelor" franchise. Hehner reproposed a decade later. The couple, who live in Texas with their daughter Henley, son Hendrix, and twins Hawkins and Huxley, have spoken openly about relationship ups and downs, fertility struggles and losing a son, Johnathan, at 17 weeks.
Survivor and Jersey Shore
Rob "Boston Rob" Mariano and Amber Mariano met on "Survivor: All Stars" in 2004 after competing on separate earlier seasons, the Marquesas Islands and the Australian Outback. Amber won, Rob was runner up, and he proposed during the live finale. They married in a 2005 televised ceremony and had four daughters: Lucia, Carina, Isabetta and Adelina.
Rob later won "Survivor: Redemption Island" in 2011 and appeared on "The Traitors." The couple competed together on "Survivor: Winners at War," "Amazing Race" and "Rob and Amber: Against the Odds."
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and Jionni LaValle met at a club in 2010. On season three of "Jersey Shore," Polizzi said of meeting him: "I meet this little Mario brother... It was kind of like a last resort walking out of the club, 'OK, you're coming with me,' because I'm drunk and I just wanna hook up."
Two years later they got engaged and had their son Lorenzo in August 2012, followed by daughter Giovanna in September 2014. They held a "Great Gatsby" themed wedding two months later, and a third child, Angelo, was born in May 2019. LaValle declined to appear on "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" to stay off camera.
Bravo relationships
Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd married in 1982 after a brief courtship. The "Vanderpump Rules" star said on Stassi Schroeder's 2018 podcast "Straight Up With Stassi" that they met at a London club and "got engaged after six weeks." She said they "were married within three months" of her returning to England from America, according to Bravo's The Daily Dish.
The couple have a daughter, Pandora, and a son, Max, as well as dogs, swans and ponies. "You know the greatest gift Ken Todd ever gave me?" Vanderpump said. "He was 16 years older than me and he met me halfway on everything. He never put me down, he never belittled me, he would take me to meetings and ask my opinion."
Captain Sandy Yawn of "Below Deck: Mediterranean" married medical esthetician Leah Shafer in May 2024, eight months after proposing in September 2023. Shafer said on a 2022 YouTube show she messaged Yawn in 2018 after seeing the show, writing, "Congrats on your show, many blessings." Yawn did not see it for months. Xscape singer Kandi Burruss and production worker Todd Tucker met on "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" during a 2011 trip to South Africa. Burruss wrote on Facebook in 2016 that an African medicine man predicted she would marry soon and that her husband was present. "Of course I was thinking he didn't know what the hell he was talking about," she wrote. "The crazy thing is that Todd was there!"
They married in 2014, having son Ace and daughter Blaze, alongside children Riley and Kaela from prior relationships. They finalized their divorce in March 2026, despite Tucker writing in a 2023 anniversary post that he was "honored to call her my wife" and that "when you find the right person it's easy but you still have to put in work."
Love Is Blind and MTV stars
"Love Is Blind" contestants Lauren Speed, a content creator, and scientist Cameron Hamilton married on the Atlanta based first season in 2020. The couple released a podcast, "The Love Seat," where Hamilton praised Speed's resilience through fertility struggles and IVF in a 2024 episode: "When I saw what you were going through, in terms of taking the medications, doing the daily shots, knowing that IVF and all this stuff wasn't really something that you naturally wanted to do but you did it for me, you showed me a new level of love that I'd never seen before."
On the show's fourth season in Seattle in 2023, recruiter Tiffany Pennywell and Nike immersive design director Brett Brown married. "Started in the pods, now we're here!" Brown wrote on Instagram in 2023. "We met in the most unexpected way imaginable but we wouldn't have had it any other way." They share their daily life in Portland, Oregon.
Trista and Ryan Sutter became engaged on the 2003 first season of "The Bachelorette" and married on television that year. Raising children Maxwell and Blakesley out of the spotlight in Colorado, the reality star and firefighter faced Ryan's Lyme disease and Trista's 2017 seizure, and appeared on "Dancing With the Stars" and "Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars."
After Ryan posted about being apart in May 2024 while Trista filmed "Special Forces: World's Toughest Test," she told E! News in January 2025 their marriage works through "communication, it's trust, it's respect, it's common values, it's compatibility, all of the things."
"The Hills" stars Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt met at a club in 2006. "I pretty much told everyone I was going to marry him and that I loved him," Montag told Vice in 2016. "[Everyone] thought I was crazy." Known as reality TV villains "Speidi," the couple married, had sons Gunner and Ryker, and appeared on "Celebrity Big Brother," "Marriage Boot Camp" and "The Hills: New Beginnings."
After losing their Los Angeles home to fires in January 2025, Pratt promoted Montag's 2010 album "Superficial," which climbed the charts. Montag told Billboard in February 2025 that community support helped burn off "that stigma that we had for so many years," adding, "it's nice that people can finally see through that and see that there was always a love story."
"16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom" stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, who began dating in seventh grade in 2005, placed their daughter Carly for adoption with Brandon and Teresa Davis in 2009. Baltierra proposed in 2010 and again in 2014. They had daughter Novalee in January 2015, married that August, and had daughters Vaeda in 2019 and Rya in 2021. The MTV duo documented their marriage, mental health and parent challenges on "Teen Mom" spinoff series.
Discussing Carly in January 2025, Lowell told E! News: "Whether she just wants a relationship with her biological siblings, if she wants to have a relationship with us, awesome. If she doesn't, totally understand. Whatever that looks like for her. Because it needs to be adoptee-centered."
