Actor George Clooney and human rights attorney Amal Clooney stepped out for a date night in Lake Como after evacuating their home in France.
The 65-year-old Hollywood star and his 48-year-old wife attended an evening event at Villa Passalacqua, arriving at the historic venue by boat earlier this month.
Amal Clooney looked enchanting in a low-cut, floor-grazing slip dress as she disembarked the vessel, carrying a small bouquet of flowers presented to her upon arrival. She accented the bridal-inspired ensemble with chandelier earrings, chunky bangles, and strappy silver heels.
George Clooney complemented his wife in a monochrome ivory look, wearing a short-sleeved shirt tucked into matching trousers and finished with loafers.
Villa Passalacqua is an 18th-century luxury estate located in Moltrasio on the shores of Lake Como in northern Italy's Lombardy region. The couple, who share nine-year-old fraternal twins Ella and Alexander, are known to spend time in Italy every summer.
Wildfire Evacuation in France
The outing follows a stressful ordeal in late July, when wildfires blazing across southern France forced the Clooney family to evacuate their home in Brignoles.
Brignoles is a commune located in the Var department within the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. The fires were part of a broader wave of blazes spreading across France, Greece, Italy, and Spain during the summer peak.
George Clooney revealed that he and his family evacuated their home in a letter sent to the mayor of Brignoles, Didier Bremond. A representative for the actor confirmed the correspondence to People magazine at the time.
Despite the encroaching flames, the actor vowed to support the town of just under 18,000 residents regardless of the damage caused by the blazes.
"Dear Didier, At this point we have no idea whether our beautiful home makes it through this terrible moment," Clooney wrote as the family fled the area. "As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasize two things, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we'll be part of making it whole."
Clooney added: "We love Brignoles and our friends who live there."
Birthday Celebrations in St. Tropez
Before the wildfire evacuation, the couple had spent time celebrating George Clooney's birthday in St. Tropez in May.
Amal treated her husband to a birthday bash full of surprises, including arranging for several of his close friends to show up in disguise.
The couple recounted the birthday prank while attending the King's Trust 50th Anniversary Celebration in London. Speaking to British Vogue, Amal shared details of the celebration she planned for her husband.
"I just surprised him on his birthday, actually with a number of things that..." Amal said, before George explained that she had friends of his show up posing as waiters at the party.
"It's a dangerous thing to surprise someone when they turn 65 because you could drop," George joked about the party. "You know, that could be the end of you, so you have to be very careful when you surprise people."
The couple frequently attend high-profile international events together. Earlier in the year, on April 27, the husband and wife were pictured attending the 51st Chaplin Award Gala in New York, an annual gala honoring achievements in cinema.
